Bachata & Spirituality: Dance, the salt of lifeπŸ™

Today’s process is very special. I suggest that you take 7 minutes and write on a piece of paper or your computer all the experiences of your life as a dancer that have given you positive emotions. Seven minutes is how long it took me to write mine. Be yourself, be spontaneous, be transparent. And above all: enjoy yourself.

Thank you for this shower that feels good after a crazy evening of dancing. Thank you for this song that the dj made me discover tonight. Thank you for the smile of my dance partner. Thank you for the sunshine that allows me to go dancing outside with my dance community. Thank you for dancing with this beautiful sunset. Thank you for this moment when I tie my shoelaces with my dancing shoes. Thanks to the DJ who played my favorite song for me. Thank you for thinking about my birthday and for giving me a dancing round around me. Thank you for receiving my first dance shoes, I open the package, I love it! Thank you for putting my ears on my pillow and falling asleep dreaming of the dancer I want to be. Thank you for showing my family my dance skills and making them proud of me. Thank you to my dance teacher when he congratulates me in public.

Thank you to my dance community for allowing me to dance every day of the week. Thank you at this time when we queue up to go home in the Latino evening and hear the sounds from outside. Thank you for this dance film Dirty Dancing which gives me a permanent inspiration. Thank you for these musicians who play live and allow me to dance to live music. Thank you for my cold that passed, I can finally go dancing. Thank you for this seduction game that I have with my dance partner all evening. Thank you for my first bachata festival ticket received by email. Thank you for the congratulations of my peers when I teach in public.

Thank you for the opportunity to step into a dance studio for the first time. Thank you for the chance to dance abroad even if I don’t speak the language, dance is THE language. Thank you for enjoying the train ride that takes me to a 100% bachata evening. Thank you for my water, which I take discreetly in the evening to quench my thirst. Thank you for this hotel room directly on the venue of the dance festival. Thank you for this moment when the plane leaves for Spain and Andalusia for my first summer festival. Thank you for this lunch between two workshops which gives me energy. Thank you for meeting famous friends in a festival on the other side of Europe whom I meet by chance.

Thank you for this cleaning lady who cleans the dance floor so we can dance all night in a clean and smelling place. Thank you for the applause in the middle of the dance competitions, it is heartwarming whatever the ranking. Thank you for this moment of preparation for the next dance class for my students, an intimate and creative moment. Thank you for seeing the smile of a depressed person who is happy with my dancing. Thank you for seeing my dance student happy by successfully completing one of the combinations my partner and I learned in the evening. Thank you for the simplest and most extraordinary things when you think about it.

At the end of the process say the magic word thank you. Thank you for the extraordinary dance life I am living.
